Our Mission
Since 1935, the National Star Route Mail Contractors Association (NSRMCA) has represented and advocated for the interests of transportation companies that contract with the United States Postal Service. These transportation companies are the backbone of the United States Postal Service’s surface transportation network, enabling efficient delivery to 161 million locations daily Monday through Saturday.
NSRMCA ensures that contractors are fairly treated by the Postal Service during the contract bidding process and in the day-to-day operation of their businesses. NSRMCA’s efforts have resulted in reforms that fairly compensate contractors for the vital role they play in the movement of the mail and empower them to fulfill their contractual obligations in a manner that is most effective for their business.
NSRMCA is also an invaluable resource for educating transportation companies about the latest developments in Postal Service contracting. That education comes via networking opportunities, direct engagement with Postal Service leadership and contracting officers, connecting members with industry-leading business partners, and through the pages of the association’s magazine, The Star Carrier.
NSRMCA has also been a partner of the Postal Service in implementing strategic reforms that improve the efficiency of the surface transportation network. NSRMCA leadership regularly meets with senior postal officials in contracting and logistics to discuss the latest industry challenges and develop mutually beneficial solutions.
As the Postal Service undertakes some of its most significant changes as part of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s Delivering for America plan, NSRMCA is working to support both longstanding and new contractors so that they can continue to be vital partners in the Postal Service’s mission.
