USPS Says 16 Locations to Retain Local Operations
USPS is reversing course on 16 local processing centers (LPC) set for consolidation, announcing they will continue processing local mail.
This decision was made based on financial and operational considerations, according to a Nov. 22 USPS filing to the Postal Regulatory Commission. The locations that will keep local mail processing in-house are:
Bismarck, North Dakota
Burlington, Vermont
Charleston, West Virginia
Chattanooga, Tennessee
Eastern Maine (Hampden), Maine
El Paso, Texas
Fort Myers, Florida
Greenville, South Carolina
Gulfport, Mississippi
Knoxville, Tennessee
McAllen, Texas
Fayetteville, Arkansas
Reno, Nevada
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Waterloo, Iowa
USPS noted that “as further facilities are announced, we will supplement this list.”
