USPS Leadership Change Carves Out Logistics Role
One of USPS’ chief managers is having his title split in two, with the slack being picked up by a former logistics executive.
Isaac Cronkhite — who was previously the agency’s chief logistics and processing operations officer — was named chief processing and distribution officer in a USPS release June 14. The newly created role of chief logistics officer goes to former senior executive advisor Kelly Abney.
Under the split, two of Cronkhite’s former reports — Pete Routsolias, transportation strategy; and Robert Cintron, logistics — will now answer to Abney.
Cronkhite will continue to oversee the following personnel:
- Mike Barber, processing and maintenance operations
- Todd Hawkins, regional processing (Western)
- Dane Coleman, regional processing (Eastern)
- Don Flak, performance/field operations support
- Jim Herrmann director of network transformation
Abney previously worked at USPS in 2020. Prior to that, he worked for XPO Logistics, where Postmaster General Louis DeJoy served on the board, and has overseen logistics operations for Walmart and Sears/Kmart.
