USPS Honoring Carter with Day of Observance

The Postal Service is suspending regular mail delivery Jan. 9 to honor recently deceased former President Jimmy Carter.

Limited package delivery will still occur that day, according to a release, which notes “local managers will advise employees on staffing levels” for that aspect.

USPS facilities will be closed as part of that observance, the release stated. Normal activity and delivery will resume the following day, Jan. 10.

Carter passed away at the age of 100 on Dec. 29.
