USPS Considering Changes at Five P&DCs

USPS is weighing reductions at five Processing and Distribution Centers.

In each case, the Postal Service will study whether it can improve efficiency “by transferring some mail processing operations” to another P&DC.

The five P&DCs locations set to undergo Mail Processing Facility Reviews are listed on USPS’s website as:

  • Buffalo, New York (with services possibly moving to Rochester, New York)

  • South Charleston, West Virginia (with services possibly moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Warrendale, Pennsylvania)

  • Eastern Maine-Hampden, Maine (with services possibly moving to Scarborough, Maine)

  • Fort Myers, Florida (with services possibly moving to Tampa, Florida)

  • Lubbock, Texas (with services possibly moving to Amarillo, Texas)

Each location has a link to a survey for public comment.

The survey states that “if the facility review supports the business case for change to the facility’s processing operations, USPS will hold a public meeting to allow members of the local community to provide additional feedback.”

The reviews were first reported by the website Save The Post Office.
