Trucking Lost Thousands of Jobs In February

Trucking jobs fell by 8,500 in February, according to the latest federal data.

That loss comes on the heels of a December and January that saw job increases of 2,000 and 1,000 respectively, reads a release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The 8,500-job loss is the biggest month-over-month loss since March-April 2020, when trucking jobs fell by 84,500.

The report shows that the trucking industry currently has 1.6 million jobs when seasonally adjusted, which is a 24,100 increase when compared to February 2022. However, overall year-to-date data shows a decrease of 8,500 jobs.
