Trucking Groups, Others Implore House to Pass Parking Bill
A group of trucking industry stakeholders and interested parties are pressing Congress to vote on the languishing Truck Parking Safety Improvement Act.
No action has been taken on the bill since it passed committee on in May 2023. It would allocate $755 million over three years to expand truck parking capacity.
The July 29 letter was sent to House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
“We encourage you to work together to schedule a vote for this important legislation that will benefit countless men and women who make their living behind the wheel of a commercial motor vehicle,” the letter stated.
