Trucking Groups Form Clean Freight Coalition
Five trucking organizations have come together to form a new group looking to promote and advocate for a zero-emission future.
The Clean Freight Coalition (CFC) was launched March 23 to “serve as a collective voice for key trucking industry stakeholders,” according to a release.
The five founding members are the American Trucking Associations, American Truck Dealers, National Tank Truck Carriers, Truck & Engine Manufacturers Association and Truckload Carriers Association.
According to the release, the CFC’s goals are:
educate lawmakers on the progress the trucking industry has already made in green energy;
promote ongoing industry work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and
advocate for policies to ensure the transition to a zero-emission future will have affordable transportation and protect the supply chain.
The coalition’s director will be Jim Mullen, who was previously acting administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
