Senate Confirms Hutcheson as FMCSA Administrator
Robin Hutcheson has officially been confirmed as administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
Hutcheson was confirmed by voice vote by the Senate on Sept. 22, congressional records show. She had been serving as the agency’s acting administrator since January.
Hutcheson brings experience to the position, having previously served as the deputy assistant secretary for safety policy at the Department of Transportation.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) praised Hutcheson on the Senate floor prior to the vote.
“During a time when our supply chains are being tested to their limits, I believe that her public and private experience, as well as her experience at both the local and federal level, will bring a unique perspective to the role and improve the safety of our transportation networks,” Klobuchar said.
