Report: Heavy Vocational Truck Demand Stays Strong

Demand for heavy vocational trucks has been healthy since a September order explosion, according to one report. 

This “suggests some level of prebuying has begun on top of strong end market demand,” ACT Research stated in its Feb. 14 release of the North American Commercial Vehicle Outlook. 

Kenny Vieth, ACT president and senior analyst, noted he expects this production boom to continue, as well as saying tractor demand has been lower so far this year. 

“Amid healthy demand, strong build and already high inventories, the industry’s capacity to sell finished products to end users could well be the limiting factor for production in 2025,” Vieth stated.
