Every region of the U.S. paid more at the pump for the week ending Aug. 28, with the nationwide average sitting at $4.475.

West Coast prices skyrocketed by over 16 cents for a per-gallon price of $5.302. The Rocky Mountain region wasn’t far behind, with a nearly 16-cent increase taking the average to $4.658.

The Midwest average rose a tick over eight cents to $4.385. Over on the Gulf Coast, fleets are paying an average of $4.169 for diesel after an increase of around seven cents.

The East Coast’s per-gallon price rose just over five cents to $4.475.

Even with the recent jump in prices, the nationwide average is still 64 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
