Price of Diesel Continues to Drop
For the third week in a row, the nationwide price of diesel fell, tumbling nearly seven cents.
That decline left the national average at $4.376, according to the latest report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), with price drops recorded in every region of the country.
The East Coast and Midwest regions each fell around eight cents, the sharpest decline in the country, settling their respective averages at $4.572 and $4.194.
The West Coast’s price fell just over six cents, dropping the region’s per-gallon price average below $5 to $4.972.
The Gulf Coast dipped slightly lower — five cents — leaving the region’s diesel price at $4.10.
The Rocky Mountain region’s average now sits at $4.621 after an almost four-cent drop.
Overall, the price of diesel is $0.321 more expensive than a year ago at this time.
