Nev., Ohio, Wis. Get Funding for Truck Parking

Federal funding will soon add 260 truck parking spaces among three states.

Nevada, Ohio and Wisconsin will collectively receive $30 million to construct additional parking spaces, according to an Oct. 21 release from the Department of Transportation (DOT).

The money comes from the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America program created under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Nevada is adding 50 new parking spaces as part of the widening of I-80 in the Reno-Sparks area.

In Ohio, two closed rest areas are being repurposed as parking facilities; 100 spaces will be located on I-70 eastbound near New Paris, and 38 will be added on I-80 eastbound near Hubbard.

Over in Wisconsin, two rest areas along I-43 in Manitowoc County are being torn down with each receiving a new rest area building, maintenance garage and parking lot; 72 truck parking spaces will be added.
