National Diesel Price Increases
The average cost of diesel rose this week, climbing around three cents to $3.863.
Almost every region paid more for fuel during the week ending Jan. 15, according to an Energy Information Administration report.
Gulf Coast fleets saw the largest increase, as the per-gallon price increased around six cents to $3.592.
The Midwest’s average is now $3.729 after a jump of more than three cents, while the East Coast saw a similar rise of just over three cents, leaving its average at $3.992.
West Coast prices stayed largely the same, increasing less than one cent to $4.576.
The Rocky Mountain region was the week’s lone outlier, decreasing around four cents to $3.755.
Overall, the price of diesel is 66 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
