National Diesel Price Falls Closer to $4
The national diesel average fell nearly six cents this week, dropping to $4.018.
All regions of the country except for one saw lower prices for the week ending May 1, according to the latest Energy Information Administration report.
The East Coast saw the steepest decline, with prices tumbling nearly eight cents to $4.073.
The Gulf Coast’s per-gallon price now sits at $3.754 after a nearly seven-cent drop. Midwest prices dipped slightly lower — a bit over six cents — taking the region’s average to $3.917.
The West Coast’s average took around a one-cent hit, with its average now sitting at $4.681.
The Rocky Mountain region was the one outlier this week, with its average increasing two cents to $4.146.
Overall, the price of diesel is $1.491 cheaper than a year ago.
