National Diesel Price Drops Slightly
The national average price of diesel saw a minor decrease for the second straight week, with a gallon now costing $5.313.
Price fluctuations in all regions translated to an overall two-cent increase for the week ending Nov. 14, according to an Energy Information Administration (EIA) report.
The Rocky Mountain region saw the biggest increase — around six cents — bringing the area’s average price to $5.401.
The West Coast’s average increased one-twentieth of a cent for a new per-gallon price of $5.769, while the East Coast saw a similarly petite decrease of a hundredth of a cent, dropping the region’s price-per-gallon to $5.474.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Gulf Coast’s average price increased five cents, with a gallon of diesel now costing $4.886. The Midwest saw a slight three-cent increase, raising the region’s average to $5.321.
Overall, the price of diesel remains $1.579 more expensive than a year ago at this time.
