National Diesel Average Falls Below $4
The price of diesel continued to fall across the country this past week, with the national average dipping around 10 cents to $3.987.
Fleets in every region of the country paid less for fuel during the week ending Dec. 11, according to an Energy Information Administration report.
Prices in the Midwest plunged around 12 cents to $3.90, more than any other region. The West Coast’s average also took a double-digit hit, falling 11 cents to $4.802.
The Gulf Coast’s per-gallon price is now $3.64 after a decrease of nearly 10 cents.
East Coast fleets paid an average of $4.05 after a nearly nine-cent fall. In the Rocky Mountain region, a dip of around eight cents left the per-gallon price at $4.049.
Overall, the price of diesel is down around 77 cents from a year ago at this time.
