FMCSA Wins Judgement Against Unregistered Company

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) emerged victorious in a case involving a moving company that wasn’t authorized to operate.

USA Logistics was ordered to pay $25,000 in fines to resolve multiple FMCSA statute and regulation violations, according to the Sept. 11 judgement from the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

The lawsuit was filed by the Justice Department, according to a release, for repeated violations.

“We want carriers to know that there can be major consequences when federal regulations are not followed,” FMCSA Deputy Administrator Vinn White stated in the release. “We use the full scope of our current authority to stop bad actors, and we were proud to partner with DOJ on this important case.”
