FMCSA Sets Public Hearing on Broker Plans
Federal regulators want feedback on proposed rules of brokers and definition changes to “broker” and “bona fide agent.”
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will hold the session March 31 at 10 a.m. in Louisville, Kentucky, according to a March 8 Federal Register notice.
Specifically, FMCSA wants feedback on its proposal to modify five aspects of broker and freight forwarders’ financial operations to try and protect the carriers working with them, as well as the definition changes.
The forum will be held alongside the Mid America Trucking Show in Louisville. Those wishing to attend must register online.
In tandem with this announcement, FMCSA is reopening the comment period for the previously proposed rules on both topics.
