FMCSA Pulls Eight ELDs From List

Fleets using any of eight electronic logging devices (ELD) from Gorilla Fleet Safety have less than two months to find a replacement.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) yanked the ELDs from its list of registered devices for failing to meet federal requirements, according to a May 12 release.

The eight affected Gorilla Fleet Safety products are:

  • AllwaysTrack
  • Command Alkon Trackit
  • ELDX
  • Gorilla Safety Compact ELD
  • HCSS ELD
  • LB Technologies FleetTrack HOS
  • Simplex ELD 2GO
  • Trucker Path ELD Pro

Starting July 11, any vehicle still using any of these eight products “will be considered as operating without an ELD,” according to the release. It also instructs safety officials encountering vehicles with these ELDS to place the driver out of service.

Companies using these devices should replace them with paper logs or logging software, or else install another ELD from FMCSA’s approved list.
