Eight NSRMCA Members Nominated For Women in Trucking Award

The National Star Route Mail Contracting Association (NSRMCA) — the national trade association for transportation companies that contract with the U.S. Postal Service — is delighted to announce that eight association members are in the running for the Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation award.

The following association members were all nominated for the annual award, which is overseen by the non-profit organization Women in Trucking:

  • Matheson Trucking
  • Ryder System
  • Coyote Logistics
  • BlueGrace Logistics
  • Arrive Logistics
  • NFI Industries
  • Traffix
  • U.S. Xpress

“It is both gratifying and fitting that so many NSRMCA members should be considered for such a prestigious award, given how focused our members are on breaking down barriers to ensure a more inclusive working environment,” said NSRMCA Executive Director Greg Reed. “This is long-overdue recognition of our members’ achievements.”

To qualify for the award, a company must be nominated, must be a member of Women in Trucking, and demonstrate a corporate culture that supports gender diversity, among other considerations.

NSRMCA members under consideration for the award highlighted numerous efforts they’ve made to ensure gender equality. In its application, Arrive touted onsite amenities for women, such as a lactation room. BlueGrace Logistics noted that the number of women its hired since 2019 has skyrocketed 43 percent due to a combination of strategic outreach and mentorship efforts. Coyote Logistics emphasized its corporate culture focusing on women, while Matheson highlighted the importance of putting women in leadership positions. NFI focused on its She Drives campaign encouraging more women to join the industry. Ryder emphasized its tracking of diversity as a metric and its Women Leadership forum. Traffix noted its Women in Trucking endeavor, while U.S. Xpress touted its women’s employee resource group.Voting for the award closes July 3. NSRMCA encourages its members to vote on the award to ensure their peers are properly represented in the final list of Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation.

Five of these companies have already been recognized for making strides in gender equality in the workplace, having bene awarded the 2021 designation of Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation: BlueGrace Logistics, Matheson Trucking, NFI Industries, Ryder and U.S. Xpress.
