Duncan Resigns from USPS Board, Cites Health

Robert M. “Mike” Duncan announced he is stepping down from the USPS Board of Governors due to health concerns.

Duncan, who joined the board in August 2018, said his chronic condition prevents him “from giving this role the full time and attention it deserves” in a March 27 letter to President Donald Trump.

Duncan chaired the board from September 2018 to February 2021, according to an accompanying release. It also stated Duncan’s term was set to expire in December.

With Duncan leaving, the board now has six members: Deputy Postmaster General Doug Tulino; Chairwoman Amber McReynolds; and governors Derek Kan, Roman Martinez, Ronald Stroman and Daniel Tangherlini. There are four vacant seats.

In the release, McReynolds thanked Duncan for his service, saying “his leadership and vision for the Postal Service have played a big role in our efforts to create long-term sustainability for this critical organization.”
