Diesel Prices Trend Upwards Another Week
The price of diesel jumped yet again in the past seven days, rising nearly five cents for a per-gallon price of $4.54.
Every region of the country paid higher prices, according to an Energy Information Administration report. The West Coast rose more than any other region — a whopping 14 cents — taking its average to $5.535.
The Rocky Mountain region’s prices increased around eight cents for a per-gallon price of $4.81.
The Midwest and Gulf Coast each saw prices jump by a tick over four cents, raising their respective averages to $4.427 and $4.212.
On the East Coast, prices stayed relatively static, rising by less than one cent to $4.479.
From a macro lens, diesel prices are around 49 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
