Diesel Prices Tick Up Slightly
The national average price of diesel saw a minor increase this week, with a gallon now costing $5.333.
This increase of 1.6 cents nationally reflected notable regional variations in prices for the week ending Nov. 7, according to an Energy Information Administration (EIA) report.
The West Coast dropped the most — 4.6 cents — settling in at an average price of $5.764.
The Gulf Coast’s average lowered by almost three cents, with a gallon of diesel in the region now costing $4.937.
On the other end of the spectrum, the East Coast saw a seven-cent increase, bringing the average price to $5.473.
The Rocky Mountain region had an increase of 3.6 cents, bringing the gallon price to $5.338. The Midwest had the lowest increase — more than two cents — leaving a gallon of diesel costing $5.351.
Overall, the price of diesel is $1.603 more expensive than a year ago at this time.
