Diesel Prices Tick Up for First Time in Weeks
The national diesel average rose a peg this past week, climbing two cents to $3.914.
Price differences varied by region during the week ending Dec. 25, according to an Energy Information Administration report.
The East Coast increased the most, rising around five cents to $4.022. The Gulf Coast’s average also climbed, sitting at $3.608 after a nearly four-cent increase.
Other regions paid less for their fuel last week. Rocky Mountain fleets are now paying $3.916 per gallon after a decrease of around one cent.
The Midwest wasn’t far off, falling just under one cent to $3.798.
The West Coast’s per-gallon price mostly stayed the same, falling less than one cent to $4.651.
Overall, the price of diesel is around 62 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
