Diesel Prices Take Slight Dip
The price of diesel fell more than two cents this week.
That downtick dropped the national average to $3.897, according to the latest Energy Information Administration report, with prices falling in every region of the country.
The East Coast dropped the furthest — tumbling just over five cents — with the average now sitting at $3.932.
The West Coast wasn’t far behind, with the per-gallon price falling four cents to $4.588.
The Gulf Coast’s price fell two cents, taking the region’s average down to $3.593, while the Rocky Mountain region’s average sank to $4.089 after a decrease of just over one cent.
Midwest prices declined only marginally — less than one cent — dropping the per-gallon price to $3.823.
Overall, diesel is $1.716 cheaper than a year ago at this time.
