Diesel Prices Take Sizable Leap
The national average for diesel jumped way up this week, increasing nearly 10 cents to $3.905.
Every region of the country paid more for fuel during the week ending July 24, according to an Energy Information Administration report.
The Gulf Coast region rose the highest for the week — around 13 cents — taking the region’s average to $3.64.
The East and West coasts each saw increases of around nine cents, with their respective per-gallon prices rising to $3.971 and $4.555.
Midwest prices rose a tick under nine cents, as the region’s average now sits at $3.814.
The Rocky Mountain region’s per-gallon price is now $3.974 after an increase of around four cents.
Overall, the price of diesel is $1.363 cheaper than a year ago at this time.
