Diesel Prices Swing Upward Once Again
Diesel prices are on the upswing again, though not as drastically as in recent weeks.
The price for on-highway diesel fuel rose a little over 5 cents nationally to $5.185 a gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration.
In its March 28 report, the group saw diesel prices climb in all eight regions following a rare down week in its March 21 report. The biggest price hike was in New England, which jumped more than 18 cents to $5.309 per gallon.
California saw a comparatively small increase for the week — just over 7 cents — but still faces the highest diesel prices in the country at $6.289 a gallon. The rest of the western states faced a steeper price climb at more than 8 cents per gallon, but a lower overall price of $5.402 per gallon.
