Diesel Prices Stay Mostly The Same
The national diesel average increased less than one cent this week, with the per-gallon price rising to $4.593.
Prices varied widely by region during the week ending Oct. 2, but fluctuated only slightly from the previous week, according to an Energy Information Administration report.
The Rocky Mountain region had the week’s biggest dip in prices — just over two cents — dropping its average to $4.778.
The Gulf Coast’s per-gallon price fell less than one cent to $4.279.
On the other end of the spectrum, fleets on the East Coast paid a little more than one cent extra per gallon, with prices rising to $4.542.
Prices increased one cent in the Midwest, taking the region’s average to $4.449. The West Coast’s average increased less than one cent to $5.694.
Compared to last year at this time, the price of diesel is 24 cents cheaper.
