Diesel Prices Stabilize After Two Weeks of Increases

The rise in diesel prices cooled off this week, with the national average rising just two-tenths of a cent to $5.341. 

Some regions of the country actually saw a decrease in prices for the week ending October 24, according to an Energy Information Administration (EIA) report

 The Rocky Mountain region saw the highest increase — seven cents — for an average price of $5.338. 

The East Coast had a nearly three-cent increase, bringing the region’s average gallon price to $5.379. The Midwest’s average price rose around two cents, leaving a gallon to cost $5.369. 

The West Coast’s average fell from $5.997 to $5.876, a drop of around 12 cents. 

The Gulf Coast had a smaller decrease — three cents — dropping the region’s average gallon price to $4.987. 

The national average price is $1.628 more expensive than a year ago at this time.
