Diesel Prices See Slight Decrease
The national average price of diesel dropped just over two cents this week, with a gallon now costing $5.317.
Every region of the country had a decrease in price besides the East Coast for the week ending Oct. 31, according to an Energy Information Administration (EIA) report.
The West Coast dropped the most — more than six cents — leaving the region’s average price at $5.81.
The Midwest saw a four-cent decrease, lowering the per-gallon price to $5.327. The Rocky Mountain region saw a similar decrease — a bit over three cents — dropping the region’s average to $5.302.
The Gulf Coast’s average fell just over two cents to $4.965.
The East Coast was the one outlier, with the region’s prices increasing two cents to an average of $5.40 a gallon.
Overall, the price of diesel is $1.59 more expensive than a year ago at this time.
