Diesel Prices See First Rise In Weeks
The national price of diesel ticked up slightly in the past week, rising around two cents to $4.116 per gallon.
Regional prices varied widely, with some reflecting the higher prices while others trended lower, according to the latest Energy Information Administration report.
The Gulf and West coasts’ averages each fell by under one cent, taking their respective per-gallon prices to $3.876 and $4.692.
The East Coast’s price basically stayed the same, decreasing from $4.199 to $4.198.
The Rocky Mountain region saw a roughly one-cent increase, taking the area’s per-gallon price to $4.104.
The Midwest was a major outlier, with its average skyrocketing up nearly six cents to $4.027.
Overall, the price of diesel is around 98 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
