Diesel Prices Rise For Second Straight Week

After several weeks of decline, the nationwide price of diesel rose for the second week in a row, climbing around two cents. 

That bumped the average to $4.622, according to the latest report by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), with prices rising at least somewhat in every region of the country. 

The Gulf and West coasts had the highest increase — around three cents each — raising their respective prices to $4.351 and $5.126. 

Prices on the East Coast climbed around two cents, bringing the average up to $4.835. 

The Rocky Mountain region and Midwest each saw miniscule increases of less than one cent, leaving their per-gallon prices at $4.742 and $4.474, respectively. 

Overall, the price of diesel is 77 cents more expensive than a year ago at this time.
