Diesel Prices Mostly Stagnate Nationwide

The national average for diesel rose a half-cent this week, with little movement in any of the five regions.

Gulf Coast prices saw the most significant price change — a 2.1-cent increase to $3.212 per gallon — for the week ending Sept. 30, according to an Energy Information Association report.

Fleets on the West Coast also saw some movement in prices, eking out a 1.3-cent drop to $4.226 for a gallon. Price changes in the Midwest didn’t even crack single-digits, with retailers adding 0.9 cents to end the week at $3.52 per gallon.

East Coast prices dipped 0.6 cents to $3.571, while diesel in the Rocky Mountain region closed at $3.612 per gallon, a negligible increase of 0.4 cents.

Overall, diesel prices are down $1.049 per gallon from a year ago.
