Diesel Prices Keep on Climbing
The price of diesel rose for yet another week, with the per-gallon average jumping over nine cents to $4.633.
Fleets in every region of the country paid higher prices for their fuel during the week ending Sept. 18, according to the most recent Energy Information Administration report.
The West Coast region rose the highest for the week — 16 cents — bringing the per-gallon price to $5.695. The Gulf Coast wasn’t far behind, increasing 14 cents to an average of $4.352.
The Midwest’s average now sits at $4.492 after an increase of over six cents, while the East Coast rose a tick under six cents to an average of $4.537.
The Rocky Mountain region’s per-gallon price increased around five cents to $4.864.
Overall, the price of diesel is 33 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
