Diesel Prices Jump Back Over $4 Per Gallon
The average price of diesel skyrocketed again this week, surging around 22 cents to $4.127.
Every region of the country had a double-digit cent increase, according to a report from the Energy Information Administration.
Fleets in the Midwest saw the biggest price hike — around 29 cents — increasing the region’s average to $4.105.
The West Coast’s per-gallon price leapt to $4.753 after an increase just under 20 cents, while Gulf Coast prices rose around 19 cents to $3.831.
The East Coast’s average is now $4.153 after escalating around 18 cents.
Prices in the Rocky Mountain region swelled around 15 cents for an average of $4.127.
Despite these price increases, the price of diesel is still $1.011 cheaper than a year ago at this time.
