Diesel Prices Fall for Fourth Straight Week

The nationwide price of diesel continued to plummet this past week, dipping just over eight cents. 

That falloff lowered the national average to $4.294, according to the latest report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA). 

Every region of the country saw a price decrease, with the East Coast having the largest reduction — around 12 cents — bringing its average to $4.446. 

The Midwest and Gulf Coast regions each had price falls a tick over seven cents, lowering their respective prices to $4.12 and $4.027. 

The Rocky Mountain region’s average is now $4.559 after a price decrease of around six cents, while the West Coast’s per-gallon price fell almost four cents to $4.933. 

Overall, the nationwide average is $0.19 more expensive than a year ago at this time.
