Diesel Prices Fall 13 Cents as Price Plunge Continues

The price of diesel is down to $5.432 as prices keep plummeting. 

The national average for the week ending July 18 was down just over 13 cents from the week prior, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). 

All regions of the country saw a decline from last week’s prices, with the West Coast seeing the highest decrease — nearly 17 cents — for an average price of $6.116. 

Most regions saw a price drop right around the average of 13 cents, with the East Coast dropping just over 13 cents to an average price of $5.467 and the Midwest falling around 13 cents for a per-gallon price of $5.409. 

Likewise, the Rocky Mountain region fell almost 13 cents to an average price of $5.546, and the Gulf Coast saw a price decrease of just over 13 cents for a per-gallon price of $5.083. 

California still has the highest prices in the country even after a nearly 15 cent drop, with a gallon of diesel costing $6.516 in the state. 

The average price of diesel in the country is $2.088 more expensive than at this time last year.
