Diesel Prices Drop Yet Again

The national diesel average fell nearly five cents this week, settling at $3.828. 

Lower prices were observed in every region of the country during the week ending Jan. 8, according to an Energy Information Administration report

Prices in the Rocky Mountain region plummeted nine cents, more than any other area, with local fleets now paying an average of $3.797. 

In the Midwest, a decrease of nearly six cents dropped the per-gallon price to $3.692. Over on the West Coast, the average price is now $4.57 after a nearly five-cent fall. 

East Coast prices settled at $3.959 after a descent of around four cents, while the Gulf Coast’s average slid around three cents to $3.531. 

Overall, the price of diesel is 72 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
