Diesel Prices Drop Below $4
For the first time since February 2022, the national diesel average fell below $4 after a nine-cent drop this past week.
All regions of the country saw a drop in fuel prices for the week ending May 8, with the national average settling at $3.922, according to the latest Energy Information Administration report.
The Gulf Coast fell the furthest, with prices dropping around 14 cents to $3.613.
The Midwest’s average tumbled nine cents to $3.827, while the East Coast’s per-gallon price now sits at $3.986 after a dip of over eight cents.
The West Coast’s average dropped five cents, falling to $4.63.
The Rocky Mountain’s per gallon price fell four cents to $4.105.
Overall, the price of diesel is $1.701 cheaper than a year ago at this time.
