Diesel Prices Drop Across Country
The national diesel average dipped by 5.1 cents this past week to $4.058.
Almost every region of the country paid less for fuel during the week ending Feb. 26, according to an Energy Information Administration report.
Fleets on the Gulf Coast experienced the week’s biggest drop — 7.6 cents — with the region’s average falling to $3.768. Over on the East Coast, a 5.5 cent-fall took the per-gallon price to $4.185.
In the Midwest, diesel is now $3.961 per gallon after a 4.9 cent dip, while the West Coast’s average descended 2.9 cents to $4.692.
The Rocky Mountain region was the week’s only outlier, with its per-gallon price jumping 4.2 cents to $3.999.
Overall, the price of diesel nationwide is 23.6 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
