Diesel Prices Continue to Trend Downward

The national diesel average fell once again this past week, dipping around five cents to $4.092. 

Most regions of the country paid less for fuel during the week ending Dec. 4, according to a report from the Energy Information Administration.  

The Midwest fell the most, dropping nine cents to $4.025. The West Coast wasn’t far behind, with the per-gallon price sinking around eight cents to $4.912. 

The Rocky Mountain’s average now sits at $4.128 after a decrease of around seven cents. On the Gulf Coast, a dip of around five cents left the per-gallon average at $3.737. 

The East Coast was the week’s only outlier, with the region’s average rising nearly two cents to $4.139. 

Overall, a gallon of diesel is roughly 87 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
