Diesel Prices Continue Slide in Most Regions
A gallon of diesel fuel was cheaper in most regions of the country for the week ending April 3.
According to a report from the Energy Information Administration, the national average for a gallon of diesel was $4.105, down more than two cents from the previous week.
Each of the country’s six regions saw prices dip, except for the Gulf Coast. Prices there rose half a cent to $3.887 per gallon, according to the report.
The Rocky Mountain region saw the biggest drop in prices, falling more than eight cents to $4.15 a gallon. The West Coast wasn’t far behind, as a gallon of diesel dropped almost eight cents to $4.724.
Diesel in the Midwest region fell a comparatively low two cents to end at $3.952 per gallon, while prices on the East Coast dropped around one cent to $4.226.
Overall, a gallon of diesel is $1.039 cheaper than it was a year ago.
