Diesel Prices Continue To Slide

The national price of diesel has now fallen for eight straight weeks, declining over five cents in the past seven days. 

That drop left the national average at $4.128, according to an Energy Information Administration report, with prices drops in every region of the country. 

The Rocky Mountain area had the biggest decline — nearly 12 cents — taking the average down to $4.231. 

The East Coast’s per-gallon price fell just under seven cents, dropping the region’s average to $4.241. On the other side of the country, the West Coast’s average dipped by six cents to $4.803. 

The Gulf Coast saw a decrease of just under five cents, with a gallon of diesel now costing $3.882 in the region. The Midwest’s average sits at $3.974 after declining over four cents. 

Overall, a gallon of diesel is $1.057 cheaper than a year ago at this time.
