Diesel Prices Continue to Fall
The national average for diesel fell 3.6 cents this week to $4.022.
Almost every region of the country saw lower fuel prices during the week ending March 4, according to an Energy Information Administration report.
Prices in the Midwest fell more than any other region — 4.2 cents — with the area’s per-gallon price dipping to $3.919.
A 3.9-cent descent left fleets on the West Coast paying an average of $4.653 per gallon.
Gulf Coast fleets are now paying an average price of $3.731 after a 3.7-cent drop, while a gallon of fuel on the East Coast now costs around $4.151 after declining by 3.4 cents.
The Rocky Mountain region was an outlier this week as higher prices were seen, increasing by less than one cent to $4.006.
Overall, diesel is 26 cents cheaper than a year ago at this time.
